2019 F53 Fluid Level check & fill?

Engine Coolant: my manual says VC-3DIL-B Orange. I've seen a post here saying that Ford's updated that to Yellow VC-13 and it is ok to mix. Is there an equivalent non-OEM coolant (eg Valvoline, or ??) for either?

Brake Fluid: any tips on how to check the level and fill for this setup (see pics)? I'm assuming a hand pump to fill but I haven't come up with a way to check the level.

Thanks for the help...

Bright flashlight held up to the side and you can see the level. Mine has enough room I can fill with a pint bottle but it isn't easy.

Right off hand I'd say the fluid level is currently at the seam where the top with cap is attached to the main body of the reservoir . If/when the level drops it'll be visible through the plastic .

Thanks. I tried the flashlight but it was pretty hard to tell. I makes sense that the level would be at the seal but I’ll try again when it’s less bright. Is the seam the mark for full level? I don’t see any marker lines for full or add.

Over the years Ford has changed the kind of coolants they recommend. I've actually counted 5 different kinds. For me I would never mix different fluids of any kind.

On my 2012 Ford chassis I use MotorcraftPremium Gold Engine Coolant with bittering agent (yellow-colored) 2VC-7-B / WSS-M97B51-A1. You cut the concentrate 50/50.
