2021 F53 V8 Brake fluid check

2021 Entegra Vision 29S Gas Coach, F53 V8 7.3 Liter

Has anyone checked the brake fluid on the F53 V8 7.3 Liter coach?
How about adding brake fluid to the reservoir?
What type of brake fluid is recommended?

I found the Brake fluid reservoir on driver side very top of the engine compartment. It looks impossible to check, let alone add brake fluid.

Thanks

Checking the brake fluid level should not require removing the cap. The reservoir should be translucent. Hold a flashlight (your phone will do) up to the reservoir and the fluid level will be easy to determine.

Your 18k chassis uses DOT 4 LV (low viscosity) fluid. Basically any DOT 4 fluid from an auto parts store will work fine. As an aside, the bigger/heavier variants of the F53 chassis use DOT5.1, which is a bit exotic, expensive, and harder to find. But not your problem.

Can’t comment on adding fluid, never had to do it.

On our Jayco there is a removable square piece of dash that is used to access the master cylinder.

It takes some pretty good force to get the fasteners to pop free.

Be very careful not to spill any brake fluid on the dash.

This is not correct. The F53 across all weights now requires DOT 5.1 per the owners manual you can get from Ford for 2021.

I just changed the fluid in my bounder. I used a turkey baster to pull out extra fluid in the reservoir before bleeding. It was tight in my situation, but doable. I have no cut out in the dash. I used a funnel placed in the top and then could pour the fluid in from the side.

I used the OEM fluid Motorcraft PM-21. For a full fluid flush I used 5 pints.

Thanks to everyone.
I could not see the fluid level through the plastic reservoir. So, I used a zip tie as a dip stick. Brake fluid level is good.

I am lucky, I have the dash square cutout cover so if I do need to access the master cylinder, I have access. Thanks Jayco
