2022 F53 Engine Fan Noise

When we were traveling through the mountains last fall I noticed what sounded like a second fan when under a load. I would hear the "normal" fan kick on then after a few seconds it sounded like a second fan or the fan kicked into a higher speed. As soon and the engine load was over everything went back to normal.

I've searched to see if there was any information but I couldn't find any. Anyone else notice this?

Thanks!

When coolant temp get to 218 F the fan clutch engages and it sounds like a jet engine until the temp drops down a few degrees, this usually only takes less than 15 seconds. If you watch the actual temp on a external gauge (I use a scan gauge. II) you will see the coolant temp start to drop as soon as the high speed fan ramps up.

Perfectly normal operation.

Perfectly normal and it’ll scare the hell out of you the first time it happens.

Thank you, I figured it had to be something normal. So used to the screaming V10!
