2023 Ford E450 Jayhawk 30Z Class C

I purchased a 2023 Greyhawk 30Z Class C motorhome. While driving home I got a whinng sound starting at 45 mph. The whinning sound increase when I step on the gas pedal to go at a higher speed. When, I slow down around 40/35 mph the whinning sound stops. Ayone else has experience this problem?

In light of all the problems Ford has had with rear axle lubricant being low from the factory. I would check the rear axle lube level first. Speed related whine could be a lack of lube.

Might check if your chassis is listed in the recall, if it hasn't been done yet.

Is it a whine or more like squealing noise. Our Leprechaun had a major squealing at about the same speed. Changed the belt, idler pulley and made sure it was tight, now no noise.

The recall for low rear axle lube was on the F53 chassis. Not an issue with the E450 the OP has.

Ford's recall affects many models beyond the F-53 and includes the E-450. 2021 was the last chassis year on the recall, but checking the gear oil would be a good idea. The OP's chassis model year may be older than 2023. The following are copied and pasted.

Ford has recalled nearly 180 model year 2020-2021 Edge, 2020 Lincoln Nautilus and Ford Escape, and 2021 Lincoln Corsair and Ford Bronco Sport vehicles. Ford says the rear drive axles may lock because an inadequate amount of lubricant is in the rear drive units.

Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2020 F-550 and 2021 E-350 and E-450 vehicles. The rear axle differential fluid may be below the minimum level, possibly resulting in a failure of the rear axle assembly and driveshaft separation.

You're right. Somehow in all my reading that one I missed. Interesting as they are assembled at a completely different location than the F53's. Sorry for misleading anyone, thanks for setting me straight.
