we just came home from a trip to gettysburg, which was about 170 miles total with a lot of good hills which in the past would make the mh downshift and run into the 4300rpm range. on this trip it never went past 3200 ,and i think mike must have locked out the lower gear toataly, as it just would not down shift. i kept waiting for the down shift aND THE HIGHER RPM, AND IT JUST KEPT CHUGGING ALONG.

Just curious, what does Ford say about aftermarket tunes? I know GM will void your warranty if they find one on their engines and with the computers today, manufacturers know when they are installed.

Curious myself. I am getting a new Jayco and was thinking of installing the 5 star tune. Does it show if Ford runs a computer diag?

I would not add one unless the M/H was out of warranty. Why give Ford, Chevy, whoever, an excuse to void your warranty.

Yes that's true, but with today's computers, dealers can tell by a scan if you have messed with the electronics. I had a 2008 Chev 3500 D/A,..... if you brought it in for an engine problem, the first thing the dealer had to do was download a map of the computer for GM. I would love to put a tune in this engine but can't afford to void my 5yr drive train warranty.

Took the MOHO out for a 150 mile drive today and must say the 5 Star Tune worked great. Between it and the Cheap Handling Fix I almost forgot I was driving a motor home. The shifting both down & up was right on target and just keep climbing some of those hills with down shifting at all. Great Tune and very Happy!!

Gary, I certainly understand your position. I just want to clarify something for future readers. As long as the ECM can be powered, good battery and a properly working ignition switch, anyone with the tuner can re-flash the the ECM back to stock. If the ECM is shot where the tuner couldn't re-flash it, the dealer couldn't D/L the data off the ECM and would just have to replace it. There is no way a dealer can tell if the ECM has been flashed and then returned to stock data. Either the stock data is there or the 5 Star data is there, no leftovers from either one.

I disagree with you on that, GM has been checking ECM's for a few years and I don't know how they can tell but they know if the ECM has been played with...

I have a 2009 Tiffin Allegro 35QBA on a Ford F53 chassis. I had problems with constant downshifting and lousy fuel mileage. Talked with Mike and he set me up.

1) Acceleration was noticeably improved.
2) Downshifts have been reduced by probably 1/2!
3) Fuel mileage has risen from 6.53 mpg (average since purchased new) to 7.28 mpg. 0.75 better. That's an 11.5% improvement!!

Yes, I'm happy..

Wow, I want to buy whatever MPG gauge you are using. The best I can get going downhill is 6.5. My typical is 5.5, without the generator running.
