Another 5 Star Positive Review
I have the 5 Star in my 2016 6 speed 24k . I am very happy with the programmer. I like the way it shifts and performance gains. I have done 0-50 mph timed runs with and without the tune and it really does make a difference. I like the added power getting on the ramps entering highways. I also like the live data that I can monitor . Approx 25k miles with the tune so far . Not a paid political announcement.

I have a 2017 E450 V 10 3V and added the 5 star at about 5k miles. I can tell you it absolutely makes a difference. Just finished a 3400 mile trip from east coast to AZ and with the tuner and 6 speed we dropped down to 4th twice. I believe it also adds torque as has been mentioned and shifts are smoother. If I do again with a gasser the 5 star will be the first addition for sure.

E450s don't use 3 valve V10s. They don't fit between the rails.
Gains in HP and torque are only realised when your under heavy load with your foot to the floor.

I installed the tune when I had around 5K miles (it came with slightly less than that) and immediately noticed the improvement. Knowing that the engine had been detuned for the year of my chassis (2016) I was very excited to get the added power. We run about 26Klbs fully loaded including the Jeep and have been cross country 3 times. So far not a single hiccup or glitch has shown its face. I can't speak for everyone, and I cannot see the future - but I would tell anyone who asked that this is a safe and smart upgrade if you want more power and better downshifting (at least in tow/haul mode).
If you're on the fence, I say do it - you'll love how easy it is to install and how noticeable the power improvements are.
I am NOT affiliated with 5 Star at all.

I have always read the positive comments on the 5 Star but I am not sure of the improvement to an older coach with only a 4 speed + OD. I have a 2004 Fleetwood.
Anybody have this installed on their older coach with this transmission?

I recently purchased a used 2018 Holiday Rambler 31 ft with about 3,000 miles. Drove it about 500 miles and installed the 5 Star Tuner, and it woke the engine and transmission up. Much better response in shifting and engine performance. Fuel economy stayed the same but it is better driving for the 3000 miles since install.

Did you happen to time before and after 0-60 runs? I know that's an odd request, but I'm always curious if the tune really changed performance, or just amped-up the throttle sensitivity.

One of 5 Star's claims is to up " Drive By Wire " throttle response.

0-60 Stock was 25.73, 0-60 tuned was 23.56.
40-60 mph stock was 14.96 seconds. 40-60 tuned was 13.80 seconds.
Test was performed by Bob Livingston of MH Magazine.
While 1/4 mile times may sound funny or odd as well, we will be doing videos in the upcoming month of 1/4 times in our coach both stock and tuned. While a coach on a dragstrip is a funny sight, it is an easy correlation to the real world.

I installed the tune to help with abrupt shifting issues and it fixed the issue. But lately, I am having a problem with what seems to be losing the tune. The abrupt shifting will come back after maybe a month or so and if I reload the tune all is well for a while. This one has me stumped. I have reloaded the original programming and then loaded the tune but that has not made a difference. Anyone else seen this happen? Chuck

Do you have any torque graphs that go lower than 2800 RPM? In my 2019 Tiffin Allegro 34 PA (2018 Ford chassis) I am turning 2500 RPM in 6th gear at 68 MPH. Would like to see how much additional torque is available for those pesky interstate overpasses. Maybe you can address whether the added torque or the change in shifting strategy (or combination of both) provides the increased umph to get across those overpasses and up shallow grades at a constant speed without downshifting.
Thanks,
Bill

Are you shutting off battery power to the transmission ?
Ford transmissions have adaptive learning capabilities.
The owners manual explains it.
