Minimal gains on any naturally aspirated application. With a really good tune, you might get 10 to 20 HP and a few Ft Lbs. of torque. Will it be noticeable, maybe. Will you see any gains in MPG, nope really doubtful.

I have had tuners on turbo diesel trucks and also one on a turbocharged pickup. Very noticeable improvements but there are more variables that they can remap to make the improvements. I had a 2017 F-150 with a 3.5 Ecoboost that I tuned, noticeable power difference but not much difference in MPG and I had to use premium.

Currently running a bone stock F-250 with a 6.7 and more power than I can use. - Brad

It helped the shifting on my 2018 v-10 6 speed. No better fuel economy. Can’t really tell if it’s any quicker accelerating. At least I can read codes with it and it monitor a few engine parameters.

I have the 5 star tune in my 6.8L V10, 2016. Not sure if helps on the engine side but the shifts are much better.

Better meaning smoother or lower RPM ? Do you use Tow/Haul Mode ?

It does not downshift as readily as the stock tune. 6th gear stock tune was essentially useless. Yes I use the T/H mode 80% of the time.

Preventing a downshift really replaces RPM with increased torque and stress to get the same work done. Increases NOx emissions and chance of low-speed pre-ignition. Never seen a V-10 actually just plain wear out from the number of revolutions it made during it life. Have seen melted pistons and spark plugs along with burned valves.

Lots of post on this please use the search feature. Only affects the transmission shift points. NO MPG increase.

I had it on my 2002 V-10 Excursion with the 4R100 and now on my 2012 class A V-10 with the 5 speed.
It really helped out with the driveability. The biggest gain is in the shifting, it will hold shifts longer. And with the newer drive by wire systems you get more 1:1 throttle response and a bit more throttle opening. So the gains are worth it. Now with the 6 speed I’ve heard the gains are not noticeable because afore has the trans programming down much better.

Thanks all I have decided to pass based on your input and just be satisfied with what it is much like in my DP days wanting a 600 hp but settling for a 450 hp . It’s the journey not the speed in getting there !
