81 Ford Establishment No Power

Hello,

I have a 1981 Ford Establishment. The RV was running great until I tried to fix something with the carb. So, not being a mechanic, I disconnect the distributor cap and forgot to take a picture. OOPS

So now, I have zero power to the dash, it won't crank etc...the battery is 100% charged. Nothing is working and of course it won't start. I am assuming (guessing) the distributor caps are in the wrong spot. Paid a mobile mechanic and he was clueless.

Please see attached picts for the current set-up.

Another question??? The toggle switch was removed (by me) because the wires were hanging on by a thread. Does that switch have anything to do with power to the dash or starter?

I have more photos I am just looking for which wore has been pulled or is disconnected or could it be the distrib cap plugs? I AM NOT A MECHANIC BUT I can follow wires.

i Am pretty sure, it is my fault but I have no clue what order I need the rubber caps in. Also, since there is no power to the RV could it be a wire is lose or disconnected to solenoid?

I am going to take another picture - I had my brother try and figure it out, but it is rat nest of wires at this point! PLEASE HELP - I really want to do a makeover on my "Happy Krap Camper" Click image for larger version

[Mod Edit] I'd like to help you but, I've never seen or heard of an "Establishment" brand RV. Going back to 1981 is going to be a real test of memories.

I will say this, I don't see how working with the distributor cap would prevent the engine from cranking. I see the toggle switch you mentioned in your 3rd picture. I'd say that's an add on some previous owner installed. I couldn't even hazard a guess as to it's purpose.
Sorry I couldn't be more helpful. Good luck with your quest to get things straightened out.

No worries. Thank you. I know it has to be one or two wires that were pulled. Like I said, I have no idea, but trying.

ANYONE NEAR UNION COUNTY OHIO?

The Establishment Co. Are the folks that is just turned it into an RV. It looks the same as all of the 1979 old RV's/ Orange and White.

Go back to the beginning. You had power to the dash, and it would crank, then you messed with the distributer cap, and the switch, and now it has no power to the dash, and won't crank? The distributer won't have anything to do with now power. So go back to the switch, and reconnect the wire you disconnected. It could be a battery disconnect to keep someone from starting the engine while someone is under the hood.
