Body to frame cushions

Has anyone here had to replace the rubber body-to-chassis mounts on their Class A, F-53 chassis? I have a 1999 Four Winds Hurricane 30Q and these bushings are dry/hard. Can't find any information on them.

Mine are also brick hard. I posted this same question in January and got no useful responses. One know-it-all even claimed that he’d “never heard of such a thing” and told me to look again. This response was to my post that included a picture from the Thor brochure bragging about their isolation dampers.

A fellow RVer and neighbor who once assembled RVs in Indiana saw these on only a few of the models he helped build. When he asked why only a few models had them, he was told that they didn’t make enough difference to be worthwhile. There are two newer Thor models in our RV storage yard; neither of them have these dampers.

I got under my rig and looked for all the dampers. I could only find six of the dozen or so from the brochure picture. The remainder are hidden behind tanks and are inaccessible for replacement.

You can buy the rubber bushings from any hot rod parts company, or you ca buy them directly from Metro Moulded Products.

No one is going to have a part number for them, but you can buy them by dimensions. This will mean you will have to get one or several out if they are different sizes. The come in many diameters and thickness. Size of holes and even if you want a steel sleeve in them.

FYI. Just because they are hard doesn’t mean they are bad, and changing them may ot make a difference. Brand new, the don’t have much give in them. The are only designed to limit vibration and noise from chais to coach.

Sometimes if you are careful and lucky.. take a tooth brush or brass toothbrush, I mean fine brass brush the size of big toothbrush.. and brush the out sides.. and use a good flashlights.. you can make out a part numbers.. then Google.. many times.. p# on top or bottom.. so you have to remove.. if you never have done one.. you are in for a treat..
Frame mounted hardware can be hard to find.. good luck and let us know what you did and maybe better members then me will help you.. oh.. get a lot of penetration oil and use it to soak for days.. I have seen them so hard to remove.. they just use torch and burn out.. man.. if the one you are thinking of changing does not have readable p# .. don't assume that other don't.. you have to try all of them.. you might get lucky and see a p#.. use cell phone with camera and flash and record frame bumper and see if you get any p#
