Any words of wisdom? Full throttle going up a grade and engine light comes on , temp guage pins to the right. Pulled into rest stop and got a code 1299, means cyl head overheat. Coolent is full and when I cleared code and tried it again , just a repeat of what happened earlier. So , coachnet cant get me till morning,No ford dealers open right now.Any clues?

They tell me that they have to wait to see which ford dealer can take me in first. I guess it could have been worse. We are in a safe area with all the facilities, gas Macdonalds ets. Manager here is okay with us staying overnight, and kids think they are on an adventure. Crispy clear sat reception for the Red Sox game tonight , so I guess I still have it going on.Thanks for the reply. I will keep you guys posted.

Sorry to hear that you have MH problems! If I can be of any help don't hesitate in calling. Do you think the thermostat might be the problem? In case you need to reach the Ford MH hot line help number (24 hr) it is 1 (800) 444-3311. Good luck!

Same goes for us Frankie. As I said directly to you, it's not that far from us, if you need anything. If you get stuck at the dealership, you can take our car, and return it when you pick up your unit.

If the coolant is full and it's not presenting any tendency to hurl the coolant out of the overflow I'm thinking that perhaps it's only some type of electronic or electrical anomaly.
Triton engines have a run hot feature and I'm sure if you were overheating you would probably smell anti freeze and you would be seeing evidence of overheating.
I thinking you'll be back on the road pretty quickly once they find the glitch! Hang in there Frankie!

Frankie , turn on your Motosat DataStorm so we can see your location . HughesNet has 9 satellites that cover all 48 states. We never leave on a trip without turning it on fast internet and awesome GPS locator.

Just got hold of a master technician at ford motor plant . it is good to have friends, right. he says it is sensor problem with the code 1299 running at full throller with possibly with your toad.possible by resetting the sensor and then the computor . if not then in a ford dealer shop will get you back on the road. I told him that no antifreeze spray or smell , just the code and the high motor temp ,
Just keep your family safe and everything will be OK.
At least there is not any snow around you .
hang in there it ain't that bad , you do have your toad with you ?

Does it take full throttle to pull the grade, sounds like you may have engine not producing enough power or an overloading problem. Just curious, what is the grade ?

I am at Diamond rv in west hadley ma. Got towed, aside from time , this whole thing has been okay. Diamond took us right in,they are looking at it right now.Service manager threw a suggestion that it may be a stuck thermostat. That makes sense because there are no loose hoses and no coolent leaks. That would make my day.I will keep you guys posted.

Yup , it was the thermostat.Funny, the guys at Diamond rv jumped on it as soon as the hook dropped it off. They ordered a thermostat from the ford truck dealer and thier deliver guy brought it to longview rv,who in turn refused it. Billy at Diamond had the sense to call again to see where it was.Diamond then just sent one of his own guys to get it.They treated me and my family like I was buying a $400,000 rig.The owner came over and asked how everything was going. Thanks guys.Wnen I get myself a new DP, I am going to you first.Service is everything to me. So you ford guys, check your thermostat,I was the 2nd one in in a few weeks with this problem.

Frankie , great to hear the news. man if the stat was stuck , your motor had to strugle along and shake the whole front end and you had to feel it on the steering wheel and at full throttle . you were lucky . let's just hope you didn't wrap your heads. Only time will tell .
How many miles are on your odometer, I am on 7,100 on my 2006 Hurricane and planning another trip back down from north GA to sunny fl to South Beach on Wednesday for 2 to 3 weeks..
Your right service is what it is all about and with great service dept , then a buyer will feel great about buying a new unit from that rv dealer.
