Changed out my own Ford E-450 ball joints

This is an update to my post regarding ball joints on our 2006 Winnebago Outlook.

The shop wanted $1,000 to do the ball joints. On Amazon, the Moog parts were about $120. I found a really good ball joint replacement video and the guy covered everything, so I bit the bullet and started ordering stuff. Long story short, I bought a couple of tools at HF and borrowed everything else at AZ. I spent about $150 for Moog parts & supplies, another $300 for a 12 ton jack, jack stands, some sockets, a $49 HF uggadugga and some other odds & ends. The bonus is I get to keep all that stuff and I still saved 500 bucks.

Now I need to get a wheel alignment.

No doubt it was a big job and spread it out over two days. At least four trips to Rural King for tools. The second day I conned a friend into helping, the second pair of hands was great, especially while manipulating all the adapters for the press out/in tool so things went much smoother.

For the average RV owner, maybe this isn't something to tackle, but for the adventurous DIYer, I say go for it.
