Chassis battery chargeing

Hi every one I have a 2006 Forets River Lexington Ford Chassis
Can any one tell When I am pluged into mains electric should it the WFCO 3way charger charge my chassis battery and when I start my Orman genset should charge it too

Hi Rob. Can't help with your particular MH, there is a very easy way to find out though.

Get yourself a volt meter (every RVer should get one). With everything off and no shore power, check that chassis battery, it should read 12.4 - 12.8 volts, depending on state of charge.

Now start generator or plug into shore power. Take another reading. If it's now 13+ volts, your chassis battery is being charged.

If not, I would highly recommend a Trik-L-Start.

Ask the question in the Forest River Owners forum. They will be able to tell you if it should charge, whether it is charging right now or not.

from what i have heard (and seen on my rv), the chassis battery is isolated from the coach battery unless the engine is running or the jumpstart switch is pressed. trik-l-start is a good idea if the rig will be parked for a long time AND plugged in or genny running.

Chassis Battery

Hi thanks For the info now I understand more I can do something about it .My local auto elecrtican is puting a splitter edvice on so it well keep the truck battery charged
Its very difficult find things out because there is so few of these in the UK even the the RV main dealers can not tell me so thanks again
