Just a reminder to anyone servicing their air filter. On my 97 460 there is, in addition to the large rectangular K&N filter, a small paper crankcase vent filter in the lower back corner. I would have missed it except for a brief comment by someone in another thread way back when. Because of the location of the filter box under the dog house, the vent filter is not visible from under the dog house cover. If you remove the 1/2" hose from lower back portion of the filter box and slide the metal clip on the filter nipple to the left, the filter can be removed and replaced. Mine was filthy after 35K miles and my engine does not burn oil.

I finally installed the banks air filter and filter cover that came with the rest of my banks kit. I put it off because I thought it would be difficult and it was. The filter box is sticking half way through the fire wall and there are seven hoses connected to it. No fun at all.

While I had it apart, I improved the flow of the plastic fitting in the hoses to the throttle body by smoothing the edges on the upstream side. Just a seat of the pants observation, but the whole effort seemed to make a difference.

BTW: Thanks to the moderators and everyone who posts on this forum. It's the best.
