Dip Stick reads 1/2qt low
My 2017 V10 (I suspect it is really a 2016 chassis) calls for 7qts of oil (with Motocraft filter), but the dip stick shows 1/2qt low after filling. Anyone else notice this on their later model V10 rig? I have seen older posts about dip stick issues on older models (requiring 6qt fill), but nothing recent. Other posts debate 6.5 qts vs 7 working for them (showing to the full mark).
I hate to say it, but is my dip-stick to short?

This has been an ongoing topic of debate. Ford has published 6, 6 1/2 and 7 throughout the years. My 01 had a dip stick recall. If you put in 7 with a filter and waited to let it settle and it read 1/2 short. I'd mark it there and forget about it.

I'm assuming after you fill it you run the engine a few minutes and then let it sit for an hour or so before you measure it?
If so I'd just put a notch on the dipstick.

Correct, ran engine for good amount of time and let it set over night.
Thanks for the input.

Does the wife help with maintenance? If so, what does she say?

Help with maintenance
She did help me do a 4 corner weigh-in on the rig in the barn today though. She provided static passenger weight
42 years so I must be good for something.
