Don't believe this has been mentioned in this thread. Part of the time for the load will be the device first saving your original Ford TUNE so it can be re-installed if and when it might be needed.

Speaking of restoring the factory tune, what is the general consensus in regards to having the 5 Star tune applied and still being under warranty with the manufacture? Does Ford generally care or not? Is it best practice to switch between stock and tune when going in for service?

I do all my own service but if i were taking it in for routine service that does not need access to the CPU or they won't need to use a scanner on it then I wouldn't worry. If a tech hooks up the scanner to do some updates it might recognize the TUNE as being different. Somebody with a little more up to date info needs to answer that.

Another approach is this. I know all the techs that might work on my MH. If I told them it had a TUNE they wouldn't care a bit and would do nothing to complicate my visit.

I always listen to TeJay when he post LOL but seriously he has very good experience and info.
I restore my factory set up anytime I take my coach in for any reason. It takes all of 3-5 minutes and when I pick it up before I leave I reinstall my custom tune. One reason is what 5Star told me, if they do any engine work at all the tune parameters are based on the factory set up so when I reinstall my tune it is matched.
But either way it is very easy to install factory and reinstall custom tune so I just do it so I don't complicate any engine work.

Simple solution. We never take our coach into Ford. We have a local mechanic that does all our servincing and he has not problem with the tune.
