Entitled to Pre-Delivery Ford Service Record?

I have discovered that Newmar took my completed motorhome, that I had custom ordered, to a Ford dealer near Nappanee to have something done to it just prior to having it delivered to my dealership. Should I be able to know what service was performed by Ford prior to me taking ownership?

I would like to know what was done to it but the dealer won't release the service record. Instead telling me I need to contact Newmar. I have contacted Newmar but so far no reply.

This is what I know. Date of service at Ford was Feb 22, 2021. Cost $536.36. Mileage 31.

According to my dealership, my motorhome was delayed due to waiting for the front seats to be delivered. I finally received a message that my motorhome was completed and ready to depart the factory. I received that message on Feb 22. The same day the service was performed at Ford on my motorhome. Coincidence?

First of all, you could contact Ford Motor Co. through the 800 service number, & give them the VIN# of your coach, & they should be able to provide you a "service history"! Due to all the "privacy" laws etc, you may have to jump through a couple of hoops proving ownership!
As a guess, it may have been to perform the service recall on low rear end lubricant; in order to get it delivered to you!

Second, Bremmen Ford is the local Dealer which services all of the F-53 chassis' which Newmar gets from Ford Motor Co. Though small, it is a great Dealership, which has performed Service work, chassis improvement installations, & L-O-F for me on my 2020 F-53 chassis.
Their "techs" are very knowledgeable about the F-53, and personally, I'd rather them do any type service work on my coach than the vast majority of the Ford Dealers nationwide.

Good Luck, enjoy your coach!

That is a good point about contacting the Ford 800 number. I am not worried about it. I would just like to know the history and have the record in case of any related future issues that may pop up.

It was Bremen Ford that did the work so I am glad to know from your experience that they are well regarded.

It couldn't have been the rear end recall issue as this was a month before that came to light. And when I inspected the rear end myself it was 4 quarts low.

They may have replaced the A/C condenser. I say this because it looked pretty beat up in the production photos I received, and not so bad when I took delivery. That is just a guess though.

The recall should be no charge.

Iíd call Bremen Ford and ask them. I recently had to be in contact with Morse Ford about my Flair having work done before it was delivered. I had to be pushy to get info and ended up talking with their Service Manager. The whole thing was a nightmare....the circle of communication between The Ford dealer, Rev, and General RV was broken. We had to short-cut it to get info and move things along. Ours was late due to seats as well. The foam shortage from the Texas ice storms caused a real problem. The mechanical issue after that was unforeseen.

Finally took delivery yesterday!

Don't worry. Be happy. 31 miles is as good as nothing. Full warranty applies. Fixing things before you get it is best practice. Good they found and fixed before it caused you any problems.

I wish you good luck and happy trails ahead!
