F53 2014 24K Chassis Grease boots

I got under the front of my slightly used motorhome today to grease the 9 zerks in the steering. The first thing I noticed ... some of the grease boots are broken or missing already. I included a picture of the one at the bottom of the pitman arm. There is at least one other one that has broken away as well. Since the motorhome is just over two years old, I'm guessing that someone before me blew them up with too much grease.

How important is it to replace them?

Can't help with the boots but check the large bolts holding the steering box on. It looks like rust around them, a clue of movement.

I went back and checked those bolts. The steering box fastens to a cast iron mount. The cast iron has flats ground into it where the box makes contact. It is those flats that have rusted a bit. The bolts are breaker bar tight so I didn't even bother trying to measure a torque.
