F53 2016 fuel filter location

Like to carry an extra fuel filter. What is the location of the fuel filter on this vehicle?

In the fuel tank.

From yours Owners Manual:

Your vehicle is equipped with a lifetime fuel filter that is integrated with the fuel tank. Regular maintenance or replacement is not needed.

Fords stance on lifetime means 15years or 150k miles. That is the projected life span for the filter barring any unusually dirty fuel etc....

Ok,thanks folks. Hard to be old school. Certainly haven't had to worry about filters in my car in quite a while.
Last two were diesel and last one got a bunch of bad fuel. My fault it was a sad looking place to fuel up.
Thanks again

My 07 F53 chassis has a fuel filter on the left frame rail and I thought they were all that way??? Easy to change if you have the correct tool.

Ford might have changed if between my model year 2006 and your's but easy enough to check. Inside the frame, driver's side maybe 5 feet behind the front axle but in front of the carbon evap cans for the fuel return from the engine to the tank.

Looks like this - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

And you will need these to release the fuel lines quick disconnects - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Again I'm comparing a 10 year older chassis so you should verify. Minor items such as this Ford can, and has, changed between model years. Also you have a lot of miles before you need to worry about needing a filter. Check your model year maintenance schedule when the recommended replace might be due. If you want to be proactive cut the interval in half. Also you'll need to depressurize the fuel system to remove. There are several You Tube videos you can view for guidance.

The fuel filter integrated with the pump in the tank was introduced in 2011. Here's a link to the "What's New In 2011" book on the Fleet.Ford.com website:

https://www.fleet.ford.com/truckbbas...ok-rwj_V17.pdf

Pages 39 - 43 detail the changes in the F53 chassis for 2011.

lifetime

yep 15 years or 150k miles . just like suspension components with no grease fittings , "lubed for life" as i explain to the customer needing ball joints and tie rods. "some people live long lives some don't"
