F53 dash lights

Just had our 2014 Tiffin 36LA in for state inspection and coolant flush. Now the daytime dash lights are not working. The lights for the night time lights come on when you turn on the head lights and marker lights. Has anyone had this problem and is it a switch problem, relay problem, or fuse problem. If you have any ideas on this please let me know. It is difficult to read the dash in daylight without those brighter daylight lights. Thanks for your help.

running lamps

did you check the thumbwheel next to the switch? Do the runninglamps work? The dashlamps are wired so if the runninglamps short and blow fuse the dashlamps dont light up to tell you have no rear lamps.

Dash lights

Thanks for your response. I did check the dimmer switch but did not check the running lights. I will check them and let you know what I find. Thanks again.

F53 Dash Lights

Hi Jimbo. I did check the running lights and they are not working. So the next step is checking the fuse. Will do that tomorrow. Will let you know of my progress. Thanks for leading me in the right direction.

F53 Dash lights

Hi Jimbo. Sorry its taking me so long to get back to you. So I will be checking the battery junction box and #6 fuse. There also seems to be a relay or two that are involved with the running lights and instrument cluster. I had this happen one time before in a 1999 Rexhall and it was a relay. Seems like history repeats itself. I am hoping to get to really checking out the possibilities. Just wondering if the mechanic that worked on it may have pulled some wires lose when reaching for the emergency brake release. Sometimes they are not careful and I am pretty sure that they didn't replace any bulbs. Will get back to you.

F53 dash lights

So, I have been testing every fuse and relay I can find with no success. The problem is that the daytime running lights don't work and consequentially the daytime dash lights are not working. I know that they are in the same circuit. The main power distribution boxes are near the radiator and the passenger fuse and relays are under the steering wheel. My question is, where are the UPS Power Distribution 1& 2 located. Geez, I can't find them. So I can't test the fuses and relays. The UPS Power Distribution Box 2 has a fuse and relay that are of interest but the UPS boxes are nowhere to be found (at least by me). Any help with this would really be appreciated.

Thanks!

1) How do you know they are on the same circuit?
2) I'm fairly sure that unless your coach was built for the Canadian market it will not have the dropping resistor to run the DRL.
3) I'm fairly sure that the F-53 does not have a daytime dash light circuit.
4) I'm fairly sure that the F-53 does not have the UPS fuse/relay boxes. I believe they are on the F-59 commercial chassis.
5) I know that you can upgrade the bulbs (if that is what your instrument cluster uses) to LEDs, in which case they will be much brighter during the day, with the headlight switch in the parking lights position.I did this.

If I wasn't going out the door for a while I'd check on some of the "fairly sures."

I'd send you the diagrams I have, but it's for an 06, and may be significantly different.
What I can tell you is if the park brake electrical switch isn't releasing, then none of it will work.

F53 dash lights and daytime running lamps

Hey! Thanks for the replies. For what it is worth, the few diagrams I have show the Daytime running lights and the daytime dash lights are in the same circuit. So yesterday I checked all the circuits (every one)with a 12v test light (hot and cold) and found all to be good. Next I will take out the light switch and check it. Have not checked the parking brake switch. If that doesn't work the slides wont work either. I think you must be right about the UPS power distribution boxes. After all this time I still can't find anything like them. Ford is driving me NUTS. I may finally break down and get the 2014 F53 manual for $245. I will keep you up anything I find. Thanks for your help.

Hey Guys! Thanks for your help. I will be checking the appropriate relays as soon as these torrential rains stop. Will keep you up on my progress. Great group of people in this forum.
