I have a 2003 Gulf Stream on a 2002 F53 chassis. The steering wheel on all vehicles I have ever owned returns to center when letting go of the wheel. However, on this chassis you must steer the wheel back to center. It does not return to center by itself. Before I bought this MH, the PO had new front tires put on (Goodyear G670 RV) and a front end alignment done as part of the deal.

It's not a big deal as I have gotten used to it, and it does track just fine with no unusual steering problems. Anyone else experience this?

Mine is the same way, and never gave it a thought. Maybe not enough caster as that has a lot to do the steering self centering.

I found the alignment sheet from the shop that did the alignment, and they adjusted everything, toe, camber, caster and kingpin alighnment, within specs. A suggestion from another forum was to properly grease the kingpins. I believe this should be done with the wheel off the ground. I will try that as soon as the weather breaks and let you know.

Mine is the same way and I also thought nothing of it. On some trucks and tractors I have driven, returning to center automatically can often be painful.

we have found that adding a Safe-T-Plus steering control unit will solve the returnability problem since it provides a true centering point.

Steve is dead on with that tip. I put a safe-t-plus on my 06 and was real happy with the self centering aspect. It also helps out with the crosswinds and trailer truck push.
