Ford Chassis Warranty Contact

Does anyone know a good contact at Ford for warranty issues? Specifically, I have an issue with the warranty start date that Ford has assigned to my RV for the "3 year 36k miles bumper to bumper" warranty on the chassis. Ford's start date is several months prior to the date I actually bought the RV. I was told (by the repair dealer) that I needed to contact the selling dealer to get it fixed. I did this and they say they have corrected it but the repair dealer still says my rig is out of warranty in the Ford database. I saw somewhere where they only update the database monthly, which will be too late for the warranty work I need to have done. I have contacted Ford customer care (useless); in talking to them, nothing is anyone's job and the don't have any information on who you should contact. They are the worst customer service group I have ever dealt with. If they do pass you off to someone else, that person won't be able to help either. Just looking for a good contact at Ford that can get this corrected quickly so I can get the repairs done.

It doesn't matter if the vehicle is out of warranty by the time Ford corrects the database IF the problem is reported to an Authorized Ford Dealer before the warranty actually expires. Take the motorhome back to the dealer and ask for a diagnosis and an estimate of repair in writing. Make sure it's signed and dated by the technician and/or the service manager.

The dealer should be able to work through their area Ford rep to get the problem corrected. Make an appointment with the service manager and the Ford rep. Make copies of your sales contract with the date of sale information clearly visible.

You should have gotten a paper when you purchased the unit that gives the date of sale and the mileage. The warranty starts on the first day a retail customer takes possession. It also starts at the mileage recorded at the time of sale.

If you are not the original owner, or the unit was registered and used as a demo it could complicate things.

If repairing dealer still shows it out then selling dealer did nothing they update every 24 hours, did you contact the selling motorhome dealer They have no access to Ford system

I spoke with selling dealer and they went in the fordwsd.com site and corrected the date. Per Ford customer service, it can take 30 days to 90 days before that system actually updates their database that the dealer doing the repairs can see. That update is actually done by an outside company..

I spoke with another Ford rep today that gave me an address that I can submit the bill to for reimbursement since the correction may not be done before the 3 yr warranty actually expires. I'm going to have the dealer complete the repairs and do that.

Just a lesson for any new RV owners. You can actually check your warranty start date on the Ford owner website if you register the vehicle on it and then select "my warranty". This can help you know if you have the correct date in the system before you need the warranty
