Ford Emission Recall 15E05

I would like to hear from owners who have gotten the recall notice from Ford to have their powertrain control module reprogrammed. I would especially like to hear from industry insiders as to what this reprogramming will accomplish.

We just received the recall notice and have located a Ford dealer with a shop large enough to fit our RV. Is this something which will significantly effect the vehicle performance in a negative or positive way? We live in SC where there is no emissions testing, so it can't impact our ability to register it if we don't do it.

Thanks in advance for your input.
