Yesterday I spoke to a FordPro Fleet Specialist at Ford Corporate. He opened a case number for my VIN and suggested I try to source the parts and deliver them to the local Ford dealer, he said Ford would later reimburse me the roughly $400.

I found real Ford bearings from an online parts store (per the list in the recall for my Dana S110 rear end). Before ordering the parts I called the local Ford dealer and asked the service manager if they would accept the correct Ford parts delivered by me or if they would order them on my behalf. SHE SAID NO. They would only accept the parts in a kit from Ford under their existing backorder for my VIN.

Apparently from reports on this thread, a few dealers are willing to source the Ford parts - not directly from Ford - and get the job done. However most Ford dealers appear to be stuck on the policy that the parts kits for each VIN must come only from Ford. Unfortunately the four parts kits my local Ford dealer has received to date - from Ford - have been non-Ford interim bearings which means the recall work has to be done twice. Once with the interim parts and again with real Ford bearings and seals. Very frustrating! To top it all off, the Ford warranty on the F53 chassis started when it was delivered to Newmar.
Regarding the start date on your Ford warranty, a Ford RV customer service rep told me that your RV dealer can advise Ford of the actual sale/delivery date to the consumer, which Ford would then use as a warranty start date. My Campers Inn finance guy has yet to find/file the form, but since the delay between the RV manufacturer taking delivery of the chassis and the RV dealer delivering the RV to the consumer can be quite long, this is worth looking into.

Actually the Ford and Newmar warranty start dates are both the day that you take delivery from the dealer.

Has anyone seen an oil leak from the front of the differential as a consequence of recall issues? I have a leak which I assume is coming from a pinion seal at the front of the differential. It's hard to tell as the wind and parking brake? rotation have slung oil around pretty good. It's not a huge leak but more than a seep. I get a 2-3 in stain on the driveway after driving. No noise or vibration when driving.

I took delivery of our Newmar BayStar at the end of June. It had been subject to the recall and was cleared at Newmar. It had less than 5 miles on the odo so just a level check was done, don't know if any fluid was added.

My chassis was built (2/2020 coach delivered 7/2020) prior to the rear end recall. I did have a small pinion seal leak, which presented exactly as you are seeing. Ford dealer replaced seal and topped off fluid last November, no problem since. I would doubt that it has any relationship to the recall. Dealer said a TSB was issued that the seals were installed incorrectly grease was used that may have caused them not to seat correctly. I have not seen a copy of the supposed TSB.

Back Ordered Bearings may be available soon

I got a message from Tiffin this morning that Ford is expecting back ordered, bearings for recall resolution, to be in on 8/20/21. Ford has told Tiffin that they will start performing recall repairs next week. Our 34PA (Ordered Jan and production completed late April) has been sitting in their lot (in Red Bay Ala.) waiting for new bearings due to recall. Hopefully this really happens and the supply chain for these back ordered bearings is starting to make its way to Ford dealers and customers.
Praying we can be on the road by mid Sept.

My 2021 Newmar is still at a Ford dealer waiting for one part - an outer cup bearing (qty 2). It has been there 2 months! We have open cases with Ford on this. Summer plans wiped out and as a teacher, now I return to school and my vacation window has closed.

I attempted to have Sam Pack Ford fix mine. They even somehow got the parts for us ahead of time.

That's when another service advisor there "squashed" my appointment. Not knowing the guy, or his "issues" I pulled up in the rig and asked him where to park it for my appointment. His reply...."Someone else's lot. You are leap-frogging my jobs that have been here for 3 months.". My service rep. argued my case for about 2 hours and lost.

Needless to say, I left in disgust. "Check back in 2 weeks" they said. My reply, "I'll check back when hell has frozen over. Be sure to check Yelp and other sites for your reviews."

The good news....Westway Ford (DFW) got us in and DONE in 2 days.

Ford has a recall policy now where they won't order your parts until your RV is physically at the dealership. I guess it works for Ford, but definitely not the customer. The parts for thousands of customers on this recall were back ordered in China for a couple of months.

SHAME ON YOU, FORD.

Our 2021 3014 has been at NIRVC since May 27th for all kinds of warranty repairs that Newmar delivered it to us. Finally after several emails and text to our service advisor he responded to me with this crap.

( It is currently at Five Star Ford for the recall and TSB. They asked me to take it over there last week but said it would probably be two weeks before they completed the work. I guess they like to have the vehicle there just in case they run through the work more quickly and can get to it sooner.)
So I'm guessing they have no ideal when I'll get it back I also worry about if my batteries will be any good and what all the humidity has done to the interior and hoping our catalytic converter isn't stolen along with our brand new Watchdog and dog bones. Just made our forth payment and haven't had one trip in it.
Would contact Mr Davis owner of NIRVC but not sure what he could do plus we're the bottom of Newmar coach line.
