ford recently put a track bar on the front of their chassis, i wonder why they didn't put it on the rear, that seems like it would make more sense, as the large overhang and the larger sail area would have the biggest effect on the steering, whad do ya think.

My guess would be money and the fact that the box maker are the ones that put the overhang, makeing a need for the trac.A shorter MH probably wouldnt have a need for trac like a longer one would.I installed a rear trac on my 2006 Ford (35') and it made a great improvement.Ford ,to me,is making changes for the better with the new tranny, beefier engine, heavier gvw.I think its up to the MH oem to do it.

i don't think the box manufacturer would change the chassis ever. i have gathered the steel and i will make a rear bar for the unit when i get it. only thing i need will be the bar itself, and i won't know the length until i get it and can crawl under.

Try to make it as long as possible. There is about 33" between frame rails. The one I made was 25.5" and worked perfect. I'll try post some pics from my album.

Mostly scrap around the house. It was black pipe from Home Depot. A little heavier than what others use but it worked well.

billyb.

Make two rear tarc bars and I'll buy one from you.
I have a 2007 BTCruiser 5291B on a 2006 Ford E-450 SD chassis.

i will be picking up my new unit on wednesday, and if ,after a period of time i feel like it needs a rear track bar, then i will borrow a welder and put one together. as far as making a second one , that depends on how the first one goes. i just don't know if i'll really need one. i've copied some pics from the net, so it won't be too hard.

billyb,

I found such a deal on a Blue Ox Tiger Trac Bar for $416 with free shipping. Should be here in 4-5 days. I'll put it on along with the new Koni's I have on order when the weather breaks.
Thanks,
Pete

You will need that trac bar, so start planning ahead with the parts.
