Does anyone have a schematic/diagram for a 1991 heater control valve? It has both a slide and a vacuum control which seems to be able to over ride the slide. Any idea on how this works or what a replacement part number would be. On the dash it looks like my old F250 4x4.
Any help would be appreciated. Need to get it working for the trip to Quartzite.
Any idea on how the heater valve works on this would be helpful.

Welcome Forest Grump to the Ford forum and irv2.
Looking thru the Ford parts links above can not find the valve your looking for by itself.
I would remove it and go to NAPA or Ford dealer to see if it can be matched up.
The vacume lines would be coming off the engine some wheres to your control on dash you could have a dried out air line or disconnection from source.
I'll link up your question to new member forum maybe one of the techs will pick this up.
Enjoy the forums and do post often.

Forest Grump...
First of all...I love your signature name! Second...welcome to iRV2! It happens to be the friendliest RV forum out on the web...and usually the most knowledgable. (You may have them stumped on this one though! )
I hope you are able to find what you are looking for in time for Quartzite. Keep us posted as to your progress.
Again...welcome to iRV2 and Good Luck again finding your control valve!

A call to SCS Frigette may help. They supply lots of RV manufacturers (and others) with heater and AC parts. They may or may not have supplied the parts to yours, but I bet they can help. They know how these systems are set up.

I found a MH heater control valve on ebay that is cable regulated and it looks exactly like the one in my MH but it doesn't have the vacuum overide so I ordered it.
Thanks for the welcome - Forest Grump is my real name at least some people think so. I am just one member of the Grump Old Men.

Evans Tempcon also supplies a lot of the Ford chassis coach HVAC systems. They have historical photos that may help in identifying your system.
If it looks like an OEM ford, I would bet it is an Evan Tempcon system.
Try Evanstempcon.com They have a number of schematics and on-line troubleshooters that should help you work through the problem.

I done doood it!. I got a new valve from eBay that was lever operated but with no vacuum overide. It was H shaped with 4 ends to fit 5/8 inch hoses. The old valve turns out was in two parts. A lever operated valve which was broken and a H shaped fitting with 4 ends. When the valve closed the hot water was diverted through the H to to hot water return.
The new one diverts the water the same way but the valve is permanently connected to the H and it opens and closes. The air conditioner blows cold air when on and the heater blows warm air when it is on. Sometimes I truely amaze myself. And I only used one rather large bandage and I don't think I will need stitches.

I let the mechanic do the plugs and all new heater hoses especially the set that goes all the way to the hot water heater.
