Hellwig Sway Bar Links and the CHF

After looking at the Hellwig sway bar links it was apparent that these links were not heavy enough for the F-53 chassis. The threaded ends were bent This was after only 7000 miles. When I installed these links, I replaced the steel bushings with the Ford OEM bushings that I removed from the original links. So everyone that has the Hellwig links need to keep an eye on the threaded ends. Also the poly bushings were a squished out of shape.

I had a new set of OEM links so replacing them is not a big deal (I have a set of CHF plates on order).

Yes but that had nothing to do with the links bending where they did.

The one on the right that's bent looks exactly like where the Z brackets bend the bars if they are too short.

Are you saying the z brackets impacted the links when fully extended.

Current Helwig spec's very specific about chassis that adjustable links will work on and F-53 is NOT listed.

Hellwig Sway Bar Links and the CHF

I trimmed the area were they hit mine because even with the original links mine got bent that is the reason I went to hellwig. Plus the extra length but the new adapter will fix the length issue. But the reason for the zbracket was for the popping and I will figure it out when I get all the parts

When I installed my Hellwigs, I used a grinder and cut a piece of the z bracket away so if would not hit the link and I also reversed the link bolts so they would not impact the leaf springs. I considered leaving the z bracket off but it looked stronger will it on.
