Intermittent Brake Warning Light

The brake warning light likes to come on now and then on my 1998 F-53 chassis. Usually when I am going "up hill". As soon as I level off, it goes out. I have checked fluid levels and I have had the brakes checked at points but the light doesn't seem to have any actual relevance to actual functioning condition of the brakes. I am assuming it is some kind of switch issue that is a bit henky but I was wondering if anyone else had had that kind of problem and what if anything they checked/did about it?

You might make sure the emergency brake pedal is making full contact with the indicator switch. Could just be a loose connection there.

I had a similar problem with my Lexus RX300 and three years ago. The warning light on the dash would come on randomly and then go out.

Then one day it went on and stayed on. Turned out it was the bulb in the center brake light was bad.

Guess what, it started the same thing two days ago and I think I'm going to put a LED light in it this time.

You said you have check the brake level fluid sensor so we will not talk about it.

Most of the time it is a week parking brake return springs in the parking brake control by your left foot. It is not returning all the way.
The next time it does it just put your toe under the parking brake control arm and lift it up some.

The is no way a brake lamp bulb can cause this as that is a separate system with no electrical connection.
If you have DRL the DRL module can cause this also.

By the way they never made a 1998 F53. If you have the 460 engine you have a 1997 F53.
