lack of spare tire

We just purchased our damon challenger and of course it does not have a spare tire. Our coachmen we had previously did and mounted on the back. So here is my dumb question...is there a place to properly store the spare? If not, what can roadside assistance do if I do not have one? Also, do I need to buy a tire already mounted? I know some roadside assistance have the equipment to mount a tire from there truck. Thanks.

Ours came with a spare, but have never had the need to use it. In your case I would highly recommend signing up for an emergency roadside assistance service with the provider of your choice. We're presently with Coach-Net.

Good luck and safe travels

I prefer NOT to sit around for days waiting for the right size tire to show up. I always carry a mounted spare when I can, and I have road service to change it. I carry mine under a bed.

Spare tire

We carry ours in our Jeep GJ. Not mounted on a wheel though.

I always carrry a spare. You can wait forever for roadside asst. I have heard of them bringing old takeoffs (they say they couldn't find a new one) and selling the out of date tire (which they got for free) to you at top dollar.

On my 97 F53 chassis, I carry a mounted spare under the MH behind the fuel tank. It was installed by FW. The person, in storage next to me, saw it and put a steel cage under his, and carries his unmounted spare there. He keeps the tire in a waterproof canvas bag his wife made. His chassis is an F53 also.

On our 2007 Ford F53 chassis we had a rack welded behind the gas tank. We bought a new 235/80 22.5 tire only to carry in the rack.

I've just replaced all six of my Michelins with more of the same 235-80/22.5 and brought back one to use as an unmounted spare. The problem is where to carry it. It won't fit into any of my hatches. It won't go under the bed, lots of room diameter wise but too wide to let the bed back down properly. I had thought of the under frame mounts mentioned in the previous posts but I'm not sure how to go about building one. Can anyone that has had one built post a picture and maybe any suggestions. My neighbor has welding equipment and is always looking for neat little projects.
