LED Headlight Conversion Lamps

Suggestions? There are a lot of different brands out there, does anybody have an opinion as to what’s best?

I will just say that the design on these conversion bulbs has came a very long way in the last few years, and that I bought a pair for our cheap 15 year old TOAD about 2 years ago and have been very happy with the result, and fully expect the designs to have improved even more in the last 2 years.

Do not put LED bulbs in a reflector housing. All you will do is blind oncoming drivers. They should only be installed in projector style housings!

Correct. It’s also illegal. Aftermarket kits will always have small print that say “for off road use only”

There are plenty of great options but they won’t be inexpensive.

This was true 5 years ago, though now there are LED replacements specifically designed to function correctly in reflector housings. See these as a random example https://www.amazon.com/Auxbeam-H4-90.../dp/B0BG7YRVJ9

LED

Please excuse my ignorance but how would I know what style of housing I have? I’ve never even heard of this before. I believe that I saw some lamps that claim to be adjustable?

First you need to find which bulbs you have. to do that you need to pull the bulb(s). If you have a separate high beam light you need to see which bulbs are in each light,

The first one is a projector style housing! The second is a reflector style. Some RV manuf use car/truck assemblies. And some aftermarket headlamps can be had with the projector housings.

A picture of the front of your coach would be helpful. We know it is a Class A, because itis on an F53 chassis. We know it is a "Vision", is that a model or a manufacturer? We know it is a 2003. I tried looking up "Vision" but I am not getting consistent results. Some of the results had the old style rectangular sealed beam lights and some appeared to have car/truck style headlights that were definitely reflector style headlights. One point to consider is whether the lenses are yellowed or hazy. If the lenses are yellowed putting LEDs in will not improve visibility as much as you hope. So, before you install LEDs resolve the yellowed lenses.

LEDs

I’m sorry, for a moment I forgot what forum I was on, it’s a Rexhall Vision. I am replacing the plastic lenses at the same time I switch to LED. I am considering the RVL005339 from “BUYRVLIGHTS.com. I’m afraid that I do not know how to post pictures or links here or I would be happy to do so. I have just now discovered that they are probably from a 92-97 F150.

Its not about the amount of light, it is about how that light is focused inside the headlamp housing. Headlamps that donot have a clear lense are more forgiving on led replacement, on the other hand a lense that has the prizim look requires a led replacement that mimics the bulb it replaces,if not you end up blinding oncoming traffic.
