Location of Starter Solenoid Switch: 2006 F53 chassis

I was debugging an intermittent no crank problem and wanted to have a look at the Starter Solenoid Switch. parts.ford.com says I have one but does not suggest a location. For various year F53s, some say passenger wheel well, radiator area, etc, but I don't see it.

There is an electrical switch of some type attached to the starter itself, and it doesn't look like a bendix. According to the service manual, there is a starter relay in the aux relay box, which is directly below the power distribution box under the hood. I've attached schematics from the 2006 service manual for your enjoyment.

Follow the chassis battery positive cable. Goes right to it.

Unless you have a picture, it ain't there. I have an 06 chassis as well. My battery positive cables double back on themselves on the right side frame rail, then go in front of the engine and disappear.

Thanks everyone for the advice.

I was able to determine that somewhere between 2004 and 2006 they got rid of the traditional starter solenoid switch and replaced it with a starter motor relay. It is in a relay compartment on the exterior firewall just as shown in HarryStone's first post. I was just looking for the wrong thing that would have large cable going to it.
