MORryde RS / RSX Suspension for F53

Hi,

Has anyone upgraded their F53 rear suspension by adding the Rubber Sheer spring (RS) system on their RV?

I was supposed to have it done about 5 years ago on my 26HE Vista but had a communication problem with the Manager and missed my Rendez-vous.

Knowing that I'll be in Elkart end of October, I might give a try... again.

Any comments on the product? To see what's it's all about, go to MORryde web site, you'll find under RV Products / Suspension

Did you go through the qualification process and get a kit # from them?

I looked into it for my Class C. Could have been retrofit but on Class Cs they're usually done on the bare chassis before the house is on.

I decided it wasn't worth it since they have no units at the time I could compare to. Ambulances use them, ever notice how their tail ends are low?

When my mechanic looked at my leaf springs he found a missing hanger rivet and other wear issues so I just replaced my leaf springs, put on new rear shocks, and added timbren helper springs. So much better.

Edit. My mechanic said he could do it but there was risk to my black tank as the shackle is so close and he'd have to drop the gas tank, which he did anyway to replace the hanger. He used all Ford OEM parts.

Also, the shackle on my RS part was adjustable which was interesting, but I thought it would be a hassle and sort of an unknown to experiment with it so that was another strike against doing it.

Maybe the F53 is a more feasible chassis for the RS.

Yes, they sent me a questionnaire via an e-mail. I filled the questionnaire with all pertinent measurements.
They gave me a kit number and quoted me a price for installation as well.

They don't do installations on built up Class Cs. Or they didn't in early 2021

Good luck with your project

No. My RV handles fine. I only want to soften the ride and am not ready to go for Liquid Spring.

I contacted MORryde and the Manager says they are booked until August 2023.
That means I have plenty of time to gather comments from those who have done the upgrade.

Can your chassis take Sumos or Timbrens?

From what I've read, certain F53 chassis have gotten an upfitted chassis by MoRyde but it's not the rubber shackle system youre looking at but rather more of a frame enhancement
