Need help with a vacuum line
I have 1 97 f53 with 7.5L engine, I found this red vacuum line that's not hooked to anything but has vacuum. Does anyone know where it connects? It's on the passenger side of engine and looks like it connects to something under the intake hose

On mine it's paired up with a black line at a rubber connector just forward of your hand in the first picture and they then go forward to the cruise control servo setup on the firewall forward of the alternator.
The other end connects to a "vacuum tree" under the air intake tubes.

Interesting. On my 94, there are 2 red pipes with vacuum, one looking just like Rsnell's and one going to the vacuum reservoirs.
But then my chassis has the cruise control disabled, and not yet re-enabled according to the TSB.

That tubing was left there by Ford for HVAC vacuum control. If you have a Fleetwood coach, that line is unnecessary as you have a Denso HVAC system with all electric servo motor controllers.

If its pulling vaccum and you can't find where it goes, you need to cap it off.

If that like the Ford class-C, the Red plastic goes to CHECK VALVE and (may change to Black) then to vacuum CANISTER, (on the passenger side), THEN to the DASH CONTROLS for the HVAC Heat/Cool/ Defrost selection, etc. Luck
