New member looking for answers.

We live in Alberta Canada but we are in Kentucky at the moment on a 2 month trip. We have 2007 Gulfstream B cruiser, 30 ft. with 3 slides. Boy is it horrible to drive. So far have put on new tires, new front shocks and steering damper, also a supersteer trac bar. Nothing has helped. AIignment set at +5 Caster. Mileage of the unit is 30,000. Not sure what else to try. I have to be constantly steering the thing, even on a straight road unless it is perfectly flat and no breeze.

First off, Welcome to IRV2!

Which chassis, Ford or Workhorse, is under it? That will help determine where to get the best help.

Have you checked tire pressure? Maybe overinflated

Welcome to the forum.

You are joining a good group of friends here with good information to share. Read the various threads here and ask questions as they come up or add information if you can. Do check your tire pressure.

Good luck and enjoy the adventure!

Yes have checked tire pressure and tried many different pressures in the front tires with no change.

Have you had the front end looked at for loose or worn components? Is the steering itself loose? There is an adjustment for the steering box, to tighten it up as well. But that should be done by a mechanic.

That should have all been checked when the front end alignment was done, hopefully it was. Such low miles I wouldn't think components would be worn yet.

Have to ask if you've driven a RV before and also what type of vehicle are you used to and comparing to? Also what speeds are you experiencing those symptoms at? Horrible cross winds are still horrid, and the only solution is to slow down. Just drove across your home province twice a month ago and took it easy (such as 10-20 Km/h below the speed limit on the TCH) whenever it was windy with cross winds. And my MH (Class A of similar vintage and length) has a steering stabiliser and UG'd though old shocks).

Load as for travel, set proper tire pressures, and get the front-end alignment checked with the RV loaded. DO NOT use a Ford shop but get a good independent truck shop to do the alignment.

These RVs overload the suspension on the Ford E350 and E-450 chassis. You will need to replace the front and rear anti-roll bars with heavier bars with urethane bushings. You will also need good heavy duty shock absorbers on both the front and the rear. Only doing one end solves 1/2 of the problem.

We went through all of this with a 30 Minnie Winnie class C on the E-450 chassis. I also wound-up putting air springs on both the front and rear of the RV. It drove like a dream after the mods.

Not sure if its worth spending a few more thousand on it as nothing is has helped so far. The alignment was done loaded by an alignment shop. Caster set to +5. Spoke to a guy in Arizona that does RV alignment. and he said +5 Caster would make it worse but that's not what I read online.

Yes I weighed it when loaded, total was fine but it would be nice to have more up front, as is usual with the big overhang behind the rear axle.
