Old F53 (V10) vs. New F53(V8) vs. E-Z Ride Suspension
Does anyone know the particulars for the suspension upgrades Ford did for the F53 Chassis (V8) from prior F53 Chassis (V10)?
How about the suspension "upgrades" on the F53 (V8) that Entegra/Jayco did in for E-Z Ride enhancements?
Thanks

Early on after buying our Precept 36A, I noticed it was missing the front drivers side jounce bumper. Calls to Jayco revealed they had no clue about the part, and so I started my research on line on the Jayco forum and this forum as well as the Ford F53 chassis parts listings. Long story short, the J-Ride system advertised by Jayco is nothing but a marketing ploy as they change absolutely nothing on the Ford F53 stripped chassis they buy to build the coach on. I verified this with several other people who had came to the exact same conclusion. I was able to get the jounce bumper from a Ford parts dealer and it is identical to the one on the passenger side. The link posted on the e-z drive Entegra page is a little confusing because all the items listed do not apply to every model and you have to look closely to see which parts are on which vehicle. From what I can tell, the e-z drive items on the Entegra Vision XL (which is basically the same as my Precept 36A) are the same as the J-Ride on my unit which are all stock Ford F53 stripped chassis parts. I can't be sure on the different features for all the different models listed, but I would be surprised if there are changes to the stock Ford chassis for any specific model. All that being said, I am completely satisfied with the ride/handling of my Precept as it is by far the best of 3 Ford Class A's I have owned...way better than my 2015 HR Vacationer 36ft. I'm not sure of all the changes Ford made on the new F53, but I believe larger anti-sway bars and there are probably others. I like the new V8 and believe I'm getting about 1-1.5 mpg better mileage.

Here is the specs/features on the 2020 F53 (V8) Chassis
https://www.xr793.com/wp-content/upl...me-Chassis.pdf
Nothing was said about the drive shaft being computer balanced, I believe it has to be.
I went back to 2017 and the specs/brochure and the suspension hasn't changed.
From what I can tell ..... - Integra E-Z Drive
- Jounce Bumpers
- Front and Rear Heavy Duty Stabilizer Bars
- SACHS Shock absorbers
- Computer Balanced Drive Shaft
- Integra E-Z Drive ELITE (On larger chassis)
- add variable rate Jounce Bumpers
- add 22.5 tires
These are the SAME suspension features on the stock F53 Chassis from Ford??? How in the world can they advertise an "Entegra" Enhancement

They claim computer balanced drive shaft because they often lengthen the chassis and have to do the same for at least one drive shaft.
The place that lengthens the drive shaft " computer " balances it.

Wouldn't that be standard practice for all manufacturers that lengthens a drive shaft? They make it sound like a unique process.
Thanks

Same thing I thought I've looked around at other brands of MH, and suspect they are all the same: Most tout/advertise special suspension features with some kind of trade name, but I doubt any of them make changes to the stock Ford chassis. Since I've not seen any class action lawsuits challenging them, my guess is their lawyers have it figured out. Oh well, like I stated before, I am pleased with my purchase even if its on a stock Ford chassis.

Yes it should be, but good marketing makes the difference and that sells RVs.
