Opening fuse box on F53 chassis

We have lost power to the 12 V receptacle on the driver side of our 2017 Jayco Precept 35S. I have been told that all I need to do is to replace a fuse in the fuse holder that is found in the upper center part of the radiator. I have been able to remove the right clip on this box but otherwise have been unable to open it. Does anyone have any experience with this? Does anyone have a picture they can share of the box open or how to best open it? I have used considerable force and have been unable to take the lid off to see where the burnt fuse is.

It has been a while since I opened mine but I seem to recall after opening the latch the outer cover slides down and then opens. No guarantees.

According to my owners manual the cigar lighter is #22 a 20 amp maxi fuse.

At the bottom right hand corner of the side of the fuse box is a "tab" or "latch" that you need to pull out and the door will then swing open.

Agree. On my Pace Arrow the power power was via a maxi fuse in this panel.

My coach had mini, regular, and maxi fuses. If yours does as well suggest to carry an assortment of each.

I took that latch which is almost out and removed it completely and even then I couldn't open that front hatch! Going Monday to RV mechanic to raise the jacks and will ask to see if he can open it.

The cover has arrows that show you where you open the cover. It even says pull to open. It is the bottom right latch. the D latch looking part has nothing to do with opening the cover.

Hidden Latch

As others have mentioned the "real" latch is hidden. I found my answer in this thread.
The big latch covering most of the right side does not need to be touched.
The real latch to, open the swinging door cover, is the small latch on the very, very lower right. Approximately below that big latch mentioned above.
It is a simple clip and you only need to move it a little and the door can swing open toward you.
The big problem is that it is hard to see, but right there.
We are tricked by the big latch.

In my case the tiny 10 amp AC clutch fuse blew out. Fixed.

I spent 30 min figuring that out one day, dont give up! if I remember , the latch is behind the box on lower right, push it out to the right and the cover comes off.

I'd almost stake a monthly retirement check that an engineer at Ford got a design reward for his/her efforts in making that latch as difficult to find and operate as humanly possible.

I already know the the newly engineered air filter box, which almost stopped the deluge of rain water going into the V-10 gas engine air intake, has made the changing of the air filter almost impossible until/unless you learn the tricks.

After finally figuring it out I can have it off in less than 30 seconds.

What will they come up with next????

2019 Integra 41V fuse box in engine compartment

I’ve read all the earlier posts...found the tab in lower right of fuse box but only by feel. Consider one is facing the box but it is hidden on the right side. What action moves the tab? I’ve tried pulling towards the front of the vehicle but no result. Can someone explain the moves one needs to make to have the tab go to the right? I can find no diagrams of the box to view the tab.r

Havanahuey-

Put your fingertip under the tab and flex the tab to the right.

And still an issue for some with the popular Ford F53 chassis.

Don't have the F53 anymore, but, even as a mechanic, it was not intuitive how to to unlock that box.

Once found, it is an easy push or pull to lift the cover. The latch is toward the back of the box, where it is hard to see.

Good luck and happy travels.
