Question Opinions - 1990 Mallard Sprinter Econoline 350 - V8 7.5 450 gas

I am looking at a 1990 Mallard Sprinter and it has a few minor issues that I believe are in my wheel house to futz with, except for the Gear housing on the steering, i can see where the connection is messed up and needs replacing - also i saw that they are notorious for drifting and lots of play. I am having a hard time finding a decent diagram and parts info/availability. Ideally if i decide to go with this MH I would like to switch out the steering so that i could have more adjustability to it (I am short and have a bit of fluff to the middle) telescoping steering wheels are very nice and I would like to make it more stable (also saw a fix of using a brace from an ambulance model that significantly improved the stability). The vin lists this as a 1989 Ford Cut away Van e350 138"wb mfg code e37, it is a V8 7.5l 450 - any other issues i should be aware with this engine, tran, body, etc?
