PSA: OBD code 2111 & 2112

I recently was stranded with the title OBD codes, and my engine in limp mode with no throttle, on my 2005 Ford V-10 in an E-450 super duty chassis. When diagnosing the problem via forums and You Tube, everything led back to a defective throttle body.

I disassembled the throttle body and found that one of the magnets on the drive motor had broken loose and jammed the motor. A quick google of the part number on the drive unit returned a rebuild kit, Dorman 911-102, available at Advance Auto Parts.
With discount codes and speed perks I’ll be ready to roll for $40.00 vs. $180.00 for a remanufactured throttle body.

So, if you have this issue, don’t spring for the entire TB, just get the drive motor assembly.

I'm thinking of doing this as a preventative maintenance item.

If that were mine I would clean it up and epoxy the magnet in place and keep it for a spare, that's if the magnet is undamadged
