random / multiple cylinder misfire detected
Random / multiple cylinder misfire detected
I have a 2016 Vegas 24.1 with the V10, 40,000 miles. I have cleared the engine code four times, the engine code says that there's a misfire end cylinders 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10. If the rv is highway hot and then it idles with the AC on, the engine light will flash on the dash, as soon as I take off it will stop flashing but the engine code will still be on. The front fan is working.

What should I do next ?

Make an appt. with the closest Ford service center. In the meantime, I'd drain the fuel tank add a can of fuel conditioner that absorbs water, and refill with new filtered gasoline.

Have you ever changed the spark plugs, etc?

Plugs are good for 100K miles. IMO, too soon to worry about that. Something in common with all 10 cylinders is causing this issue. Fuel, or a vacuum leak?

I would pull some of the plugs out and see what they look like. if they are black with soot then you have a fuel or ignition problemand can go from there. I would also suspect fuel contamination as someone mentioned earlier as well. Water in the fuel can cause the issue you describe as well. Can you feel the engine misfiring whenever the light is on?

Could you have put E-85 in by mistake? All the spark plugs don’t go bad at the same time.

Maybe a lean misfire? There’s a vacuum leak after the MAF ? Unmetered air would cause a lean mixture. Does it feel down on power? How can it even run with misfires on all cylinders? A bad MAF?
Sounds like a mechanic needs to check it out.
