Replacement oil dipstick

I have a 1999 Fleetwood Flair with a Ford V10. I have been trying to find a replacement engine oil dipstick. I keep finding one for a V10 that is way too short. Itís for a 1999 F350-450-550 etc. Mine is a very long dipstick with a couple of rivets in it that extend it so it reaches the oil. Any ideas of where I can find one?

I do understand it would be nice to get an original. Have you called Colaws up in Springfield, MO? It's an RV salvage yard. Who knows what they might have?? How about any heavy truck slavage yard that might have that engine & dip stick??

If you have the original you'll know the correct length. Another option would be to get what you can get and extend it so it will work. Any decent metal shop can rivet, braze, or weld on an extension.

I'd drill two tiny holes about an1/8' or so through the end of the stock or what ever you can find dip stick. Go to Hobby Loby or a good hardware store that sells tiny brass or SS nuts and bolts. Drill holes to place two tiny bolts and once the nuts are on pene the nut with a sharp pointed punch to stop the nuts from coming loose.

There's always more than one way to skin a cat!!!

My next step was to check at an Motorhome or large truck salvage yard.

Have you tried Ford F81Z-6750-HC? It's listed as for the F-53, and a different part number than the F450

After further research you are correct Harry. The original dipstick had a t-handle which didn’t register the correct level. They put out a new one in 2001 with a loop handle that measures the correct level. Thanks.
