Seepage from a 2019 F53 brake master cylinder reservoir?

We had brake work done in June including a drain and flush of the brake fluid. We had one trip and got back two weeks ago. The other day I noticed a small spot on the concrete, maybe 8" in diameter, under the front of the motorhome and went hunting. I had waxed the motorhome the previous day and the spot definitely was not there.

It appears we have some seepage from the master cylinder reservoir. You can see a small drop in the one corner and some fluid streaking down the side.

On another forum a few people said they had the same thing but nothing was found. One F53 was about six months older than ours. Both had brake fluid work done in the preceding few months and both noticed it only after the motorhome had been parked for a few weeks, which is rather odd. They both thought the master cylinder may have been overfilled but no one could think why it took weeks to show up. Both had a shop inspect the brake system and neither found any problems.

I cleaned it all off with paper towels and did not get any fluid off the top with the paper towel, just dirt. I don't think this is coming from the caps.

I then put a wad of paper towels under the dripping corner and two days later there was no fluid on the towels, but this morning there was a single drop hanging down.

Today I started the engine and stepped on the brakes several times and I'll check it again tomorrow.

We do have a shop appointment next week but I'd like to know if anyone else has had an issue like this and how it was resolved.

The one pic is of the power steering reservoir that the fluid was dripping on.

The brake fluid reservoir appears to be full and the brake pedal was solid when I stepped on it with the engine running

Any guesses are appreciated.

Thanks,

Ray

It may be overfilled, and the fluid is seeping out past that seam for the top cap assembly.

That's what I'm thinking but that would indicate a defective reservoir, no? This thread has a pic and that's also where my level is, right at the seam: https://www.irv2.com/forums/f23/2019...ll-541468.html

This post is about a similar leak that was at the seam: https://community.goodsam.com/t5/mot...t/true#M522913

Sigh.

We dropped the motorhome off this morning and just picked it up. Nothing specific was found but the shop believes they may have slightly over-filled the reservoir when the brake fluid was replaced in June.

They cleaned everything off, removed a bit of fluid, and said to let them know.

No charge.

Are you sure it's brake fluid? it will easily rinse clean with water if it's brake fluid. Power steering fluid is usually ATF, right? is yours red? That should be easy to ID.

Now I see the fluid on the reservoir in the pic, it had to have come from the top or a crack in the reservoir. Nothing to worry about, keep an eye on the level for a couple trips. It looks like yours is full past the seam, which is fine but I don't think it has to be that high.

If there's a FULL mark on the reservoir I can't find it. We'll see, I guess.
