There might not be a discount, but mine came with a free Dash Scan (not to be confused with a Scan Gauge).

I guess you have the latest 6R140 trans. I would say no on the stock tune. However, Mike made me a tune that would NOT downshift out of OD unless I manually did it myself on my 4R100 trans. So I would have to say Mike could do what you wanted. I would suggest everyone considering a 5 Star to think good and hard what they really want out of their tune and talk to Mike before purchasing his "stock" tune, which is already great over the factory setup.

I had the same problem finding my ODB connector on my Georgetown. I found it by accident. I had taken my speedometer out and thought I'd take another look and lo and behold there it was. It was mounted pretty high on the steering post right side. I never would have found it if I hadn't taken my spedometer out.

I have a 99 V 10 with 4 speed trans and my Brother has a 08 V10 with 5 speed trans. We are thinking about getting the programmer. He doesn't know if he has the tow haul mode on his trans and I live in a different state, so I can't look at it. I think the tow haul came out about 05. If he does have it, how will he know and how do you turn it off? He doesn't have the chassis manual. Thanks

If he has the 5 speed he has the Tow Haul Mode.

Here is a good explanation - Ford Over Drive On/Off and Tow/Haul Mode

Just a quick info bit.

I bought and installed mine in November 2012 and have driven 6600 miles with it. Been on a bunch of local trips but log trips to Dallas,Texas and just outside Topeka, Kansas and I think it is worth every penny paid and then some.

Shifting and power are just awesome.

Fuel mileage is still meh but let's face it we are driving over inflated wind deflectors.

I bought mine from Mike at a Good Sam Rally and got the best price I have seen it sold for.

Got mine today in the mail. I guess I'm just to dumb for this. It sure ain't easy for me like the thread indicates it is. I put the CD in the computer and first thing listed is check online for updates. So I checked and see there is a Tune Version 2.069PFDUS where my version shows 2.068PFDUS. So I plug in the USB cable and out of 3 computers all running Windows 7 32 bit none will load a driver for the device. So at this stage I'm afraid to do any thing on the motorhome. Guess I'll have more time tomorrow and will have to call 5 star and see if they can walk me through it.

The update is just for the software that loads the program into you V-10 computer. You should be ok using what you have. Probably just a minor change to the uploader. I don't know what version mine is, but it is over a year old and works fine. I have loaded tunes several time without a problem.

UPDATE: Figured out how to get the driver working to connect to computer for updates. Did the update and then out I went to flash the ECM. Appears all went ok, may take a test drive tomorrow.

2nd UPDATE

Took a 40 mile test drive today. Noticeable change in shifting on down shifts with cruise on. I didn't have the toad behind today and it wasn't a road we usually travel. In 3 weeks we do a 700 mile run that we have made many times and I'll know at the end of that run how much change there is for sure.

2nd update:

Just covered 500 miles to Sandbanks Provincial park Canada and it was like driving a different coach. Relaxed driving, with smoother changes and only once did I get the change down to 2nd in cruise, dropped it out straight away a change up was instant. I think gas miles are up but I was towing a 3000 lb pop up. So once again Mike thank you for a great product.

First extended trip with the 5 start tune. The trip was a real test for any coach. From the East Valley of AZ into the White Mountains through Globe and Miami, AZ up a very steep pass with a full load, elevation over 8,000 FT starting at 1200 FT. The 5 Star Tune made a huge difference. We can home through a different route over another pass with good grades through Payson, AZ. The difference I noticed after the Tune was more power and much smoother shifting. I would recommend the Tune for anyone wanting more from their coach.
