How can I tell if My new to me, 2000 Georgie Boy Landau has been 5 starred or not?

I asked this because I swore when I bought a MH, that the first thing I was going to do was get this MOD done. We drove the MH from southern Florida to just north of Winston Salem NC. Downshifting occurred maybe 6 times during this whole trip and as I recall, all but one time I had to make it down shift by stepping on the accelerator a little harder. For those familiar with the hills on Rt 26 and 77 in SC, only 2 of those hills caused me to downshift, and maintaining speeds of 60 to 65.

I suspect either this V454 has already been Modded or it just may not need it. Does 5 star track what RV's these were sold to?

Sounds like it has. When it hasn't, you can hear and feel the RPM "hunt" up and down as it shifts.

Since my MH is only a year old, I don't want to take a chance on voiding the Ford warranty. Has anyone checked with Ford about this?

Just a WAG, but if they are anything like an insurance Co, just asking, will get you flagged. Legally, they have to prove it caused the damage, if any. - Magnuson-Moss Act -

Beings you have a 454 Chevy I dought it has had a five star tune. If it has a 4 speed gm auto it may not be so prone to downshifting as the V10 fords are. And does it have the allision like the 8.1 does. It may very well have had a tune or banks setup or headers and intake and and injector swap, I can't tell from here. If it ain't broke, don't fix it!

First, it is very hard to tear up a V10 ford or the five speed auto they put behind them. Second, if something goes wrong just swap it back to stock. Nobody would probably be the wiser, or care for that matter. I put the five star in my rig at about 1000 miles if my memory serves me correct. I even put the five star scat emblem right in front of the ford V10 emblem on the right side of the coach where all can see. I need to call five star and get one for the drivers side V10 emblem as it look lonely now. If ford was worried about the V10 at all they wouldn't Have them programmed to sound like a B29 taking off when they downshift and hit 5G plus on the tach. The five star tune probably save FoMoCo more money then it could ever cost them!

5star

I installed my tune today in my 2012 vista. Wow, that is a difference I can feel.
Thanks to Mike and all. It is every bit as promised, no, better. Shifting on hills, power improvements, low speed handling, all better.

Try the different tunes. You can adjust some of the parameters, like timing, shift points , pressure, etc.

Mine came with a Dash Scan. You can monitor up to 8 functions (4 per page) that you can scroll through and it even comes with a performance monitor where you can even see Instant Torque, 0-60, and I think 1/4 mile time, etc

I received my 5Star Tune from Mike yesterday and I'm going to reprogram today. I did the CHF along with new poly bushings a while back. I've not had the rig out, but I'm taking it from the Fl panhandle to Bristol, Tn in three weeks for its first outing with the mods. I can't wait to get it on the road and feel the difference! I'll be sure to post my impressions when I get home.

Sounds like some racing may be involved in Tennessee.

You might want to ask if anyone has made your list of changes. I would go for the performance tune first and then if not satisifed add the Banks equipment.
