Spark Plug Wires & Scope

I wanted to look at my spark plug wires the other day to make sure they were all on good after replacing them all. I have always want to know if my old Heath Ignition scope I put together back in 1965 for point type Ignition systems would work on these new Ignition systems or they would just fry it. So I got brave and hooked it up to the 1994 F53 and guess what, it worked.

I like one day back about the time you were bulding that (Well few years later, like 1970ish) My brother had done a major overhaul on a farm tractor on the farm We lived on,,, Would not start.. Well, I grabbed a meter and took a few measurements and decided the points were not making (They were breaking just fine but they were not makeing)

He ask me how much I paid for that meter (a low end multi-meter, As I recall it was less than 10 bucks)

He said "We have one back at school cost Fifteen hundred does the same job".

That is why I know how to read that scope of yours
Of course..... The multi-meter did not interpert it's readings like the big one at school (I had to do it using my brain).

According to your scope display, cylinders 5 & 6 have high resistance in the spark plug wires....
