Steering wheel swap?

We got a 2018 Nexus 29V, built on a 2017 Ford E450 chassis… and I hate the E Series batwing steering wheel. The steering wheel in our 2019 F150 is MUCH nicer… anyone know if I can replace the E450 steering wheel with one out of an F150? Even if all the controls don’t work (might try to use a Maestro unit to adapt the F150 steering wheel controls for use with an aftermarket Kenwood head unit), it’d still be nicer to drive my RV with the F150 steering wheel instead of the van steering wheel… assume the big question is whether or not the F150 airbag would still work…??

I do not know for certain if the steering wheels could be swapped. I did lookup the clocksprings for both vehicles and they are quite different. The clockspring is the device immediately under the steering wheel that electrically connects the air bag and horn button, at least. Sometimes it also connects cruise control and/or audio controls if they are on the wheel.

The air bag connectors are very different between the E-450 and the F-150. Also the center hole that the steering shaft passes through is much larger on the F-150.

My suspicion is that a swap won't work unless the air bag itself would swap as well. You could likely tell by looking at shape.

Wow, that’s super-disappointing… but super-helpful! Thanks for the info… you probably saved me a bunch of time and money trying to figure all that out!
