Tire pressure sensor fault on 2022 E450

Hello,
I have built in TPMS on my 32 ft rv. It is built on a Ford e450.
I have intermittent warnings on the dash screen telling me "Tire pressure sensor fault"

On a long day drive, it might appear every hour or so and stay there for 20 to 45 minutes.
Upon check, it is mostly the rear passenger tires (one, or both of them).
I went to the dealer several times to have it checked under warranty and even have one tpms replaced with my own money (150$ cad!).
They tell me that there is interference as the fridge is located above the rear dual wheels.
Now there is no signal coming or going from the fridge.
The dealer also tells me that Ford emitted a bulletin that they would not adress TPMS issues on modified e450 like mine.
I find this hard to believe.
My truck is still under warranty.
Hes anyone experienced the same problem?

Any ideas from you guys would be appreciated.

2021 E-450 with 87,000 miles and my TPMS works flawlessly. Had a few flats and slow leaks and the TPMS is a game changer. FWIW my fridge sits over the passenger side dualies, so I'm throwing the BS flag on that diagnostic.

No problems with my 2022 Leprechaun 319mb. I have the 6cf Dometic LP/120v electric absorption refrigerator.

So you have the same refrigerator, or so you perhaps have a 12v refrigerator?

Thanks for the response. I didn't mention that my fridge is a Dometic 12V no propane. I also made the test to drive my rig with the fridge off but the problem still occurs...

Can’t imagine anything in the operation of a 12vdc residential refrigerator that operates at the same wireless frequency so as to disturb TPMS communications - and if it did/does, would think there would be more threads on the topic.

Did replacement of the as you said, TPMS, solve the problem, either temporarily or permanently?

Some TPMS’s have replaceable batteries, some “self charge” - batteries usually last a number of years.

My MH had a propane fridge from the factory, I changed to an Everchill 12v in the 1st 6months, made no difference

Unfortunately, the one TPMS that I did replace did nothing at all. I had to cross this off the test list. Would there be a fault in the truck's computer? I wonder. Thank you!

Not sure how easy it would be to take the tire/wheel off and roll or place near a tire/wheel sensor that works to confirm the sensor.

How are the TPMS’s referenced to the computer as to location? Is it programmed like some aftermarket TPMS systems are, or is it based on a sensor at each wheel?

If programmed, maybe the computer needs to be reprogrammed for the sensor.

If sensor at each wheel - look for a damaged or frayed wire between the wheels leading back to the computer.

Great idea! I could swap the left tires to the right and see what happens.
From my experience (swapping a front tire to the rear on the drivers side) the computer eventually recognizes the position of the tires. I can see this by the different pressures monitored (when the sensors work of course). Thanks!

NOT my experience with this system. I got a new tires and they were switched during the installation. Drove a few thousand miles to Alaska before a large rock wedged between my rear wheels in the Seward City Campground and sliced the sidewall. The TPMS was indicating a right side tire when then now completely flat tire was the outside drivers side.

My E450 2022, Jayco 30z, did that yesterday. Outside right, went blank, stopped and checked all ok, then after awhile all back to normal. Then both rear on right dropped out then after awhile back on.. Refrigerator is propane/110. I wonder where receiver is for the tpms.

You seem to have the same problem as mine. Was it the first time or does it occur occasionally?
