What are the differences between the 2016 and 2017 Ford F-550 chassis?
Thinking of getting a super (Gas) class C with a 254 wheel base on a Ford F-550 chassis and was wondering what the differences might be between the 2016 and 2017 models. Any comments, knowledge, experience and help would be greatly appreciated

They are probably all looking for the same answers. I have a 2015 Chassis, but can't tell you the difference, but I truely hope they improved the exhaust brake, other than that, it don't need much improvements

I thought they only came in diesel. Why do you want gas?

The F-53 does. The F-550 comes with gas standard and a diesel option which I believe OP was talking about. I was questioning why would one want a gas F-550. (just curious)

OK then...you are probably right about others looking for the answers too Many things on RV are very difficult to find, especially the important stuff.
I prefer the f-550 "gas" over the dessel because it is less expensive (to buy and fix), weighs less (more OCCC) and less complicated for me given some gas engine experience. I know the ride might be as good but I do plan on getting the air ride system I figure if they were able to go west in a wagon, I can suck it up in a 32 foot class C gas vehicle.
I like the class C but not the e-450 chassis because of the low, low OCCC. Need to have a 30+ because of two dogs and I plan on living in it for months at a time. Will be keeping the S&B for residency, health insurance and the professional license. Right now looking at the Born Free Imperial. They say there is a difference between the 2016 versus the 2017 chassis (I guess there is always a difference between years) but I wanted to know if anyone knew what the actual differences are and how important are they really. Would prefer not to buy new if you know what I mean The warranty on these is 3 years I believe. Any help would be appreciated. Also are there any other class "C"s on a f-550 chassis that are gas?

Oh, one other question. What is the actual f-550 chassis they use on a motor home? There are several different f-550s to choose from.

As far as I know there is only one F-550 Super Duty Ford, with either gas or diesel, I have diesel and love it, wouldn't have it any other way.

2016 is a year older than 2017!

LOL....your probably right and the only real difference besides a year older is the cost
I guess it is the "super duty" part that was confusing me. I thought there were some where you could get two rows of seats in the cab, others say cutaway chassis and there are also "options" too. Wasn't sure, still not sure, exactly what you actually get in a ford f-550 chassis for a RV? I presume you can't "add" any options that may be available from ford but then again I don't know what you get in the RV chassis

The "chassis" comes as the motorhome manufacture orders, no, you don't have much of a choice. However, there is no reason you can't add to the chassis, inside or out, after or before you sign for it. I had the extra alternator installed in the chassis, I'm sure you can do others too, but of course it going to cost. Oh, I also added the power seats afterword.
The F series it the truck frame/chassis while the E series is the van cutaway chassis.
