Yellow air intake net

(2018 F53) Is this yellow net a rock stopper? For storage/keeping insects out?

Mine has gone kind of moldy - and I can't find it listed on the online Ford catalogs.....

I have one of those on my 2008 F53 chassis. Mine is getting limpy. Curious as to being able to replace mine as well. I think any netting material that is fairly strong and has an elastic on it would work.
Watching.

Turns out it was sturdy enough to scrub by hand. Still weird no part number listed.

I don't recall there being any yellow net anywhere on my 2013 F-53. Where are we talking about? A pix would really help here.

I had two F53’s and as I recall they were removed as soon as I got them. A photo would help to confirm what you’re referring to.

Same here - I don't really know what you are talking abut. Is this discussion you started about the intake airbox on the F53 and some type of screen affair to prevent debris and bugs from entering?

Not sure if this is what you're talking about but this thread from Jayco owners forum might help. I had the yellow "sock" on my Precept air intake for 2 years then saw this and removed it. Hope this helps.

Well, it came on my RV as delivered new, and there's nothing in the 2018 Ford F53 stripped chassis manual about it.....

Yes, that's it.

Is there any Ford documentation on this? Jobber's manual maybe?

Is it before or after the air filter?

Here is a pic of mine, at the inlet before the filter. I like the idea to keep bugs etc out. I haven't had any problems with overheating yet, although I haven't really traveled in hot weather either.

If I were you I would purchase some screen door screen, non metallic, such as I did and place it behind the grill, all the way down. This will do more for the engine, ie radiator than the little yellow bug screen you have on the air intake. After looking at the picture of your radiator, I would recommend you clean it of all of those bugs. If you let it get too full, it will affect overall cooling ability of it.
Oh, yeah keep the yellow mesh for storage.

Yep. I hear ya. I will have to look again but I didn't think that there was that many bugs in there. I did order a bug screen for the front of the MH but it is too big, still looking. Most of what you see is nicks from small rocks etc. But I will look again. What I see in the pic is all that brown color. I don't see that when I look at it. Something else to do tomorrow, LOL.

EDIT: I would think the yellow screen would keep out mud dobbers and the like though.
