1996 Monaco dynasty electrical problems

It’s been awhile since last posting. Haven’t done a lot of rving because of health issues. But I’m taking a trip in August my problem is I have a 110 adapter that I used just to power up while working, my problem is when plug into 110 my batteries overcharge but if I’m parked in to 50 amp power’s source the don’t smoke can anyone please help I’ve gone thru two batteries this just became a problem but after the last battery exploded I just stopped plugging into 110. Is there something I should look at also if I run generator it doesn’t seem to happen

Your inverter needs to be programmed or replaced if its bad.

What is charge voltage when this happens???

Yes, could be a mis-programmed smart charger or a defective charger.

But, if a perfectly programmed and functioning charger is charging a battery with one dead cell, it will certainly boil the batteries to death.

You need to troubleshoot the root cause of the issue.

Post a picture of your controller panel inside the RV and the inverter/charger so we can better guess what you have. Also, battery type? Lead acid I'm assuming? Deep cycle, 12v? Picture?

If you have a similar controller to mine, instructions can be found in your manual or online. If the charge voltage is set higher than your batteries can handle, the batteries will never reach the 100% charged state and therefore get charged to death. You can typically set what the charge voltage is and your inverter/charger will sense when that is reached. You can also set it to be a little lower than max charge voltage.

Properly programmed (see your Freedom 20 owners manual). Easy to do.

Then check voltage at the house battery bank after charger goes to FLOAT MODE.

Do you have a remote battery temperature sense (a phone-type connection at the inverter/charger)? If defective it can cause improper voltage. Disconnect from the inverter and see if that makes a difference.

Let us know what you find.

What are your two batteries 6v golf carts or 12v 8D semi size house batts. Did you swap to 6v golf cart batts.
My freedom was replaced with Triplite UPS 2012 at one time it was an incredible value. But they've raised the price quite a bit on it another better inverters have come along at a more reasonable price.

EDIT...What voltage you getting at this 120 outlet. A bad neutral at/to a distribution panel can cause voltage imbalance between split phases. I would more expect something like this from a MH itself ...owners have posted an issue.

EDIT ..looks like you put in a pair of deep cycle 12v.

You shouldn't see much more than 14.5v ever ...then should drop to about 13.5 in float mode. Use a multimeter not the display.
Possibly dip switch in remote panel is on Equalize.... if so it equalize every time power is cycled. I'm actually surprised the Heart F-20 still works in coach
Like mentioned if battery temp probe just unplug it from inverter right away.

To add to my above post Going back about a 18-36 month ago....an owner had an out building with phase imbalance. If I remember right the high side of split phase he was plugged into was over charging his batteries.

I had a similar problem except on shore power my chassis batteries were only being charged at @ 12.5v or less. After investigation I found that it was due to a bad temp sensor from my inverter ( I have a Trace RV2012) to the battery. Disconnect your temp sensor and see if things change. I confirmed this by talking to Xantrex and they do not have a replacement for my unit and they said just leave it disconnected - not needed.
