Air Conditioning Compressor

'04 HR Ambassador 38 PDQ, Cummins 8.3 ISC 330HP. In the process of having the dash AC repaired. No leaks and compressor appeared to be OK with no visible freon leak stains, etc. It had too much oil in the system due to some earlier botched freon replacement. Technician drained most of the oil and refilled the system only to find that the compressor was not working properly. Now the problem, the original compressor had been replaced with an after market copy from and off shore source. Suppliers are unable to use the numbers from that compressor for a replacement.
Does anyone out there have an original compressor they could snap a pic of the label on or somehow know the OEM part number. If anyone can help, please text it to me at 218-780-7195. Seems that any working compressor on an 8.3 ISC block should work. Only other option is for the technician to remove the oddball (additional service call & labor) and have a supplier measure the pulley, attachment point measurements, etc to find a replacement ($$$$$).

If it's a Roadmaster or Freightliner chassis, call and give them the chassis SN.

They should be able to give you a part number for the compressor.

Once you have a PN., you can cross it over to another brand.

Happy Glamping.

Our 2004 Monaco uses a Sanden U4756 A/C compressor with 4# of R134a. I replaced it a couple of years ago.

Air Conditioner Compressor

Public thanks to JohnBoyToo. Phone wait time to REV Group Parts is 1 hr+ - crazy everywhere. Signed in on website and left contact email with request. They used the VIN and came up with the right part number.
Their system works well with very reasonable response times. Refreshing!

Glad to hear it all worked out. I've been involved with those deals where something has been scabbed together.
Can be a nightmare.

Air Conditioner Compressor

Got the aftermarket compressor from REV Group. Waited a month on the right dryer, then it wouldn't work because the expansion valve was clogged. Another 3 weeks to get one of those. This fiasco started Feb 17th and today, May 5th I finally have 50 degree air coming out of the vents on the dash. All the frustration and $3,000 out the door we're fixed, but traveling here in AZ and in the Southeast in summer you just can't do without it. Yes, we ran the generator and roof units (live savers) but my coach drops the generator at just below 1/2 tank. Seemed to happen near the end of every trip.
On The Road Again here is Phoenix is the only company that makes site visits for dash A/C. Jared is very good, but he has to make a living too - ain't cheap.
