Airing Up Coach With Aux. Air Port

I could use a little help please. I am thinking of connecting my garage air compressor up to my coach to air up the suspension thru the tow connection in front of the coach. Is there a reason this should not be attempted? I need to do this is because I have the rear up on ramps and the air has leaked from the bags causing the front of the coach to lower, while removing the radiator I lost approx.. one gallon of transmission fluid and need the coach level to add fluids. Thanks in advance for your help.

If it's actually a fill port, it will go thru the air dryer and all will be fine. I would drain any moisture from the shop compressor first anyway.

You could consider adding the trans fluid once you have it off the ramps. Being one gallon down on fluid is not too much to start the Coach and drive it off the ramps.

Thank both of you for your prompt reply. After completing this radiator replacement most the air has leaked out and will take a few minutes to air up so coach can be moved. I don't want to let the transmission pump to run that long without proper fluid , I'm not even sure if it will engage being at least a gallon low. I think it is an air port when we had the coach towed that's where the wrecker connected his air line.

Sounds like a plan. Good luck!

I always use shop air to air up instead of running the engine.

whitetop, did it work? I tried that with our imperial, it did nothing when I connected shop air to it.
How bad was the radiator job any tricks you learned?

If it didn't work, it's because it's not a fill port, but an outlet for using the air for filling tires, toys and blowing dust.

They have air protection valves to stop the tanks from draining below about 70 PSI. It's saved for the brakes.

I have not tried the air yet, but when we got towed a couple years ago the driver connected the air hose from tow truck to the air port in the front of the coach near the generator and I believe it activated brakes and suspension. No real tricks to the radiator removal, actually not a bad job. I hope to get it back this week for reinstall, that may be the real challenge. I will follow up when the job is complete.

Something I thought about jleamo1, you may need to turn the key on to air the coach, and make sure the leveling system is off so the coach tries to go to travel mode.

I wonder if mud bugs sealed up the hose, it was wide open when we bought it up front, I put a cap on it. I tried to use it once last winter, thought it would fill the tanks, but I am not sure how its supposed to work, i.e. fill the tanks or just charge the suspension. Guess I will have to play with it and see.
The one for airing up tires is in my 1st bay, that works great.

Try filling, from that fitting, with the tank pressures above 75 PSI.

If it fills, that's due to a protection valve on the tank. They shut at about 70 PSI to save the air for the brakes. It also means that fitting is not for filling the tanks.

How high did you have to get the coach to pull the radiator? I am making an assumption that it is a side radiator?
